About the role

The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is a diverse state agency dedicated to the safety, health, and security of Washington's workers.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze injured worker tort claim mediation and settlement requests
  • Obtain supporting and clarifying information for the tort claim
  • Engage in the adjudication process, settlement negotiations where indicated and appropriate with external parties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, public administration or closely aligned field
  • 3 years’ experience adjudicating workers’ or crime victims’ compensation insurance claims
  • Knowledge of Washington Worker’s Compensation law and personal injury law
