Engineering Director, AI, HR Engineering

The HR Engineering team builds people and culture solutions and powers the HR technology that underpins the entirety of a Googler’s career, from hire to retire. We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Engineering Director to lead the technical strategy, prototype to development, and execution for our new "AI Accelerator for HR Function" team in Hyderabad.

• Define the AI Accelerator's technical vision and roadmap
• Recruit and lead a team of AI/ML engineers and scientists
• Oversee the complete development lifecycle of AI products
• Work with product managers to create technical specifications from business requirements
• Implement monitoring for production AI models
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project planning to drive operational efficiency

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, relevant technical field (with an emphasis on machine learning/artificial intelligence), or equivalent practical experience
• 15 years of experience in software engineering, with 3 years of experience in a leadership role managing engineering teams (40+ engineers)
• Experience in leading the development and deployment of machine learning and AI-powered products in a production environment
• Preferred qualifications: Experience in the HR domain or HR tech, Experience in strategic thinking with strong communication and problem-solving abilities, Deep understanding of various AI/ML techniques, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), computer vision, predictive analytics, recommendation systems, etc.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Strong background in MLOps, data engineering, and cloud platforms (GCP)
