Responsibilities
- Manage a team of software engineers, driving their technical development, career growth, and enhancing the collective engineering knowledge base across the team.
- Define the technical strategy and architecture for scalability and robustness to support a billion plus user base, primarily using Kotlin on the Android platform.
- Ensure reliability and performance (latency and quality) for core messaging functionality, including RCS, SMS, and MMS stacks, utilizing data-driven methods to address transport reliability issues.
- Provide technical leadership by contributing to design documents, projects, and leading code and design reviews to steer the team's direction and maintain high quality standards.
- Serve as a key cross-functional collaborator, partnering with multiple internal teams (e.g., Android platform) and external entities, including carriers and manufacturers, to integrate and advance core messaging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
- 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
