About the role
The Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and quick-learning Social Service Specialist 2 to join our Home and Community Services (HCS) division
Responsibilities
- Help people make decisions about the services and supports that are best suited for the individual’s particular needs
- Educate applicants and referents about LTSS, including functional and basic financial eligibility requirements
Requirements
- Twelve months as a Social Service Specialist 1
- Completion of the agency’s Social Service Specialist training program
- OR A Master’s degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, criminal law/justice or an allied field, and one year as a Social Service Specialist 1 or equivalent paid social service experience
- OR A Bachelor’s degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, criminal law/justice or an allied field, and two years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 1
