Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Surgical Trauma

• Provides essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey
• Provides patient care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated
• Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards
• Maintains accurate, orderly chart files
• Coordinates care with other health professionals
• Practices infection control in all actions
• Executes legible writing with correct spelling in documentation
• Monitors utilization of equipment and supplies and assists in inventory control
• Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of medical terminology
• Schedules tests and treatments efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Takes messages accurately and promptly and forwards them to the appropriate person
• Accurately and clearly transcribes all routine orders within appropriate time and communicates orders to appropriate staff
• Batches charges accurately and in a timely manner

• Completion of CNA course required; must be certified within 6 months of employment, and/or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited Nursing Curriculum with the intention to complete a nursing degree required
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire
• CPI required within orientation
