A healthcare opportunity is available in Carbondale, IL, for a skilled Operating Room Technician (ORT) on a contract basis. This role requires dedication to supporting surgical teams in delivering exceptional patient care within an active hospital environment.

• Assist in patient transportation and positioning before surgery
• Prepare operating room by assembling tables, instruments, and sterile supplies
• Perform skin preparation and draping of patients
• Assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, and passing instruments during procedures
• Maintain accurate counting and handling of surgical instruments, sutures, and sponges
• Apply dressings and bandages as necessary
• Handle specimen collection and care
• Decontaminate instruments and equipment following strict protocols
• Support efficient operating room turnover between cases
• Monitor and replenish surgical supplies as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
• Minimum six months of technical experience or specialized training for non-certified applicants
