About the role

The Sensor Architecture team is a multi-disciplinary team that develops state-of-the-art technologies and sensor modules across Apple’s product portfolio, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Architecting the entire sensor system for each product—defining key figures of merit, setting specifications, and authoring requirements specifications for the entire sensor-system-tree to guarantee the customer experience
  • Building comprehensive sensor models that capture the entire signal chain—physical, electrical, and algorithmic—to streamline algorithm prototyping and guarantee performance in high-volume production
  • First-principles physical modeling and analysis to better understand design tradeoffs in our sensor designs and efficiently intuit optimal solutions
  • Co-architect and assess design tradeoffs with partner teams like display, wireless charging, and product design, to ensure best-possible performance for the entire product
  • Identifying novel sensing architectures and similar opportunities to significantly impact performance

Requirements

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • B.S. Degree in one of these fields: Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics
