Surgical First Assist Cert

The Surgical First Assistant provides critical patient care by directly assisting the surgeon during operative procedures, working under their immediate direction.

• Directly assist the surgeon during operative procedures
• Ensure a safe surgical experience through technical support
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team
• Perform duties under the guidance of the operating surgeon
• Maintain acute awareness of the surgical field and patient safety

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program
• One year of surgical technician experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR
• Certified Surgical First Assistant NASC
• Certified Surgical First Assistant
• Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists
