About the role

The Lead Program Manager role partners with engineering teams, technical designers, and procurement professionals to lead the design and development of new or changing engineering projects and programs using Waterfall methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Implement project/program milestones, timelines, project plans, team structure, and budget
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the team on project/program objectives, work plans, budgets, schedules, and performance criteria
  • Ensure engineering, technical, and procurement activities align with project/program goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategies to establish clear communication channels and processes between external stakeholders and the project team
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals, and proactively identify and implement solutions to resolve roadblocks
  • Own project/program budgets, costs, and financial commitments at a strategic level and make recommendations for optimization
  • Establish a robust framework to ensure compliance related to contract agreements, technical specifications, and industry standards
  • Ensure the quality of project/program reports shared with stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations for improvement
  • Determine what constitutes as risks, issues, and roadblocks, and escalate when necessary to high-level stakeholders, as well as provide strategic recommendations
  • Oversee the practices, tools, and methodologies deployed for the project/program
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and strategic thinking in the design and execution of projects/programs, while encouraging continuous feedback from team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, or Project Management, or in lieu of a degree, at least 9 years of experience in software development or software release management
