About the role
A leading independent retail pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Supervising Pharmacist / Pharmacist in Charge to manage daily operations and ensure compliance in a busy community setting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records for all prescriptions, including controlled substances
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of all medication stock
- Supervise the dispensing, sale, and compounding of drugs and restricted devices
- Enforce pharmacy laws and regulations, provide training to staff on compliance and best practices
- Manage pharmacy coverage by licensed pharmacists at all times
- Oversee authorized refills and prevent unauthorized sales or entry to restricted areas
- Uphold standards as set forth by federal, state, and local laws pertinent to pharmacy operations
Requirements
- PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited program
- Active New York State Pharmacist license
- Immunization certification
- Proven experience in retail or independent pharmacy settings preferred
- Familiarity with MicroMerchant or PrimeRx software is a plus
- Fluency in English required; Mandarin language skills highly desirable
