Counselor, Mental Health

Join our team as a Mental Health Counselor and make a difference in the lives of our patients.

• Effectively utilizes strong clinical and assessment skills, cultural competence, and basic casework skills (referrals, advocacy).
• Provides therapy to assigned adult/geriatric patients per Behavioral Unit (BHU) policies, developing, and revising the treatment plan, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, establishing specific short- and long-term goals.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of the patient and patient representative.
• Documents the psychosocial evaluation, all one to one and group activities, therapies, and case management activities in the patient(s) chart.
• Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team participating in treatment team meetings evaluating and updating treatment goals and interventions.

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Human Services from an accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days after hire date.
