Compliance Officer

• Lead the implementation of the global compliance management system and supporting processes locally.
• Contribute to the implementation and on-going management of the localised compliance management framework for Australia and New Zealand in conjunction with global compliance requirements.
• Implementation of the controls monitoring and assurance program, including provision of advice and support to stakeholders on the implementation of solutions required to better manage compliance risk and control issues identified.
• Manage compliance incidents and breaches, including triaging, compliance advice in the assessment, root cause analysis and remediation of compliance breaches and incidents.
• Provide support in generating reports and insights on monitoring and assurance activities to Management and Board.
• Promote a strong compliance and conduct risk culture.
• Support continuous education and improvement initiatives within the Compliance function and broader business.

• Proven experience with controls monitoring and assurance activities within financial services, preferably insurance.
• Proven experience in managing and using Governance, Risk & Compliance systems (ServiceNow preferred but not essential), PowerBI, SharePoint, Excel.
• Understanding of key general insurance legislation and regulatory obligations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the presence and ability to interact and build credibility across all levels of staff.
• A professional educational background or proven experience preferably legal or audit qualifications.
