Staff Engineer, Cellular Systems

In this role, you will architect and drive system-level solutions that define user experience. You will have the ability to influence and work with the latest cellular modems for Pixel phones and Wearables.

• Drive the technical roadmap and system architecture for cellular performance
• Lead development of AI/ML for cellular systems
• Architect and lead the optimization of the end-to-end cellular system
• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex, system-level performance issues
• Serve as a domain expert on cellular systems
• Partner with cross-functional partners to align on system architecture
• Deliver end-to-end product excellence
• Collaborate with engineers from across Google to solve challenging performance problems
• Execute on design goals for the next generation of products

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• 6 years of experience in wireless communication technologies
• Experience in a systems engineering or architecture role for mobile devices
• Experience in cellular systems performance, including power, throughput, latency, and mobility
• Experience in end-to-end cellular architecture
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Experience shipping consumer electronics with a focus on cellular performance
• Experience defining a technical roadmap and strategy for complex wireless systems
• Experience optimizing cellular modem performance, shipping consumer products
• Excellent communication and people management skills
