Responsibilities
- Lead and shape the physical security strategy across UKI & Non-Core Markets, ensuring it remains agile, innovative, and aligned with Sky’s risk tolerances.
- Maintain oversight of physical security risks across all relevant business areas (retail, broadcast, events, home service), supporting consistent risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with Sky’s physical and electronic security policies, helping evolve standards in line with best practice and regulatory demands.
- Build and manage key stakeholder relationships across the business, ensuring security advice is timely, accurate, and operationally integrated.
- Develop and manage a robust 2nd line assurance programme for third-party delivery, working closely with Facilities leadership.
- Act as Sky’s representative in group-wide and market-wide security forums to promote consistency and share best practice.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders including law enforcement, NPSA, emergency services, and security industry groups.
- Promote a culture of business-owned risk, building tools and frameworks to empower teams while providing hands-on support when required.
- Own and lead the delivery of security projects end-to-end, from concept to execution, ensuring value and alignment with Sky’s strategic goals.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a physical security leader within a multinational, multi-site environment, ideally across diverse markets and cultures.
- Expertise in modern security systems and technologies, with a strong grasp of innovations including automation, digitisation, AI and analytics.
- Strong background in third-party vendor oversight, particularly in relation to security guarding and facilities management.
- Experience designing and delivering high-impact security training and awareness programmes.
- Deep knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and governance frameworks, with experience embedding compliance across operations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, able to communicate clearly and confidently across all levels including senior executives.
- Agile mindset with the ability to lead through change, complexity, and ambiguity while delivering impactful and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and pragmatic approach to tackling strategic and operational security issues.
- Team-oriented leadership style, fostering collaboration and high performance within both direct teams and wider functional groups.
