About the role
The Assistant Attorney General - Revenue & Finance Division represents the Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) and provides legal advice, both written and oral, relating to investments, securities, pensions, employee benefits, constitutional law, tax, open public meetings, public records, and board governance.
Responsibilities
- Writing clear client advice memoranda
- Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting complex investment contracts
- Providing legal advice, both written and oral
- Providing litigation recommendations
- Reviewing contract amendments, consents, limited partner advisory committee consents, and most favored nation election forms
Requirements
- At least three years of experience as a transactional attorney working with investments
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated client advice skills
- Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills
- A demonstrated commitment to ethics and to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Experience working with outside counsel
