About the role
The Special Commitment Center (SCC) programs provide specialized mental health treatment for civilly committed sex offenders who have completed their prison sentences.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical, administrative and managerial direction and oversight
- Ensure the provision of evidence-based group and individual therapies
- Assigns and reviews treatment specific interventions for residents with mental health conditions
- Coordinate the education and training of clinical staff
- Audit resident treatment plans and clinical documentation
- Edit and approve the agency’s sex offender treatment program manuals
- Collaborate with other SCC managers
- Develop, manage and renew contracts with institutions, agencies and professionals
- Serve as Chair of the Clinical Team
- Ensure residents are recommended or considered for conditional/unconditional release and revocation of conditional release status are reviewed and assessed by the clinical team
- Provide written clinical recommendations to the CEO
- Serves as the CEO’s consultant on all Resident Treatment Program issues
Requirements
- Licensed Psychologist with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology
- Three years of experience providing sex offender specific treatment or treatment in a correctional or forensic setting
