About the role

The Special Commitment Center (SCC) programs provide specialized mental health treatment for civilly committed sex offenders who have completed their prison sentences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical, administrative and managerial direction and oversight
  • Ensure the provision of evidence-based group and individual therapies
  • Assigns and reviews treatment specific interventions for residents with mental health conditions
  • Coordinate the education and training of clinical staff
  • Audit resident treatment plans and clinical documentation
  • Edit and approve the agency’s sex offender treatment program manuals
  • Collaborate with other SCC managers
  • Develop, manage and renew contracts with institutions, agencies and professionals
  • Serve as Chair of the Clinical Team
  • Ensure residents are recommended or considered for conditional/unconditional release and revocation of conditional release status are reviewed and assessed by the clinical team
  • Provide written clinical recommendations to the CEO
  • Serves as the CEO’s consultant on all Resident Treatment Program issues

Requirements

  • Licensed Psychologist with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology
  • Three years of experience providing sex offender specific treatment or treatment in a correctional or forensic setting
