DSHS SCC Security Guard 2 Join our team at the Special Commitment Center (SCC) on McNeil Island in the picturesque Puget Sound. We are a highly structured and secure treatment facility dedicated to assisting individuals who are detained and/or civilly committed in addressing their sexual offending histories.

• Routinely conduct facility foot patrols to ensure all areas are secure
• Physically respond as a member of a quick response team and/or emergency response team
• Control the main security systems throughout the total confinement facility to ensure appropriate ingress and egress of authorized personnel

• One year of experience as a Security Guard 1
• High School Graduation or GED AND two years of experience in areas of work such as security guard, correctional officer or store investigations, or, police officer, police reserve officer, military police, or other law enforcement work

• Free Orca card for transportation use
• $10 per day premium pay
• Ferry transportation provided to McNeil Island employees from the Steilacoom dock
