Fiscal Analyst 2 / Accounts Payable
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions and journal voucher entries as requested by SAFS client agencies.
- Analyze transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with all related state and federal requirements as well as agency unique policies.
- Communicate with client agencies and their vendors as needed to ensure transactions are posted accurately and timely.
- Reconcile accounts payable general ledgers (and other related subsidiary accounts) on a regular basis.
- Identify outstanding items and make correcting journal voucher entries as needed.
- Record accounts payable transactions in the proper accounting period.
- Examine expenditures monthly to compute and prepare accruals for accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare fiscal year-end entries and adjustments in the appropriate periods.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years of experience in accounting, auditing, or relevant financial field.
- An Associate’s Degree AND Two and half (2-1/2) years of experience in accounting, auditing, or relevant financial field
- A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, public administration, business administration, or related field AND At least six (6) months of experience in accounting, auditing, or relevant financial field
- A Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, or related field
