Principal Data Engineer - CoreAI

CoreAI is Microsoft’s central organization building the foundational platforms and tools to power AI experiences across products including GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and Copilot Studio.

• Data Architecture & Engineering: Design, build, and optimize large-scale, robust data pipelines and architectures that support CoreAI’s analytics initiatives.
• Data Governance & Trust: Establish and evangelize best practices for data quality, lineage, security, and compliance.
• Analytics Enablement: Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business leaders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• AI & Product Development Support: Architect data solutions that drive growth analytics and product feature innovation for the Foundry platform.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor fellow engineers, championing engineering excellence, code quality, and innovative thinking.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, software engineers, AI researchers, and business stakeholders to align data solutions with business goals.

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering
• OR equivalent experience
