About the role
An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to work full-time onsite in a K-12 school located north of Dallas, Texas. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and focuses on providing specialized educational support for visually impaired students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels.
- Conduct consultative services for classroom teachers and staff to support inclusive learning environments.
- Perform evaluations related to visual impairments to inform individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for students' academic and developmental needs.
Requirements
- Certified or licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of teaching methods and resources for visually impaired learners.
- Ability to perform assessments and implement specialized instructional strategies.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with educators, families, and service providers.
