Teacher of the Visually Impaired

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to work full-time onsite in a K-12 school located north of Dallas, Texas. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and focuses on providing specialized educational support for visually impaired students.

• Deliver direct instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels.
• Conduct consultative services for classroom teachers and staff to support inclusive learning environments.
• Perform evaluations related to visual impairments to inform individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for students' academic and developmental needs.

• Certified or licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
• Experience working in K-12 educational settings.
• Strong knowledge of teaching methods and resources for visually impaired learners.
• Ability to perform assessments and implement specialized instructional strategies.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with educators, families, and service providers.
