About the role
WSDOT is currently seeking an Assistant Project Engineer (WMS2) to oversee the engineering and administration of construction projects across the South Central Region
Responsibilities
- Manage an independent engineering project office delivering Capital Improvement Preservation Program (CIPP) projects
- Certify design documents, plans, specifications, and change orders with a professional engineer’s stamp
- Plan project budgets, schedules, and workforce needs
- Provide expert technical direction and mentorship on complex engineering design and construction issues
- Ensure projects meet all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, environmental permits, and contract administration requirements
- Report project status and outcomes to regional and statewide executives
- Supervise and develop office employees through training, coaching, performance evaluation, and promoting a safe, inclusive, and equitable work environment
- Communicate and negotiate effectively with contractors, agencies, tribes, stakeholders, and the public to resolve conflicts and achieve project goals
Requirements
