About the role
At Eastern State Hospital, we work with people who are facing serious mental health challenges. Many of our patients experience conditions that can make daily life difficult and sometimes unsafe—for themselves and for others. They come to us for stability, understanding, and care.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group therapy that is grounded in evidence-based practice.
- Develop and monitor behavioral plans that address each patient’s specific needs.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, counselors, and other staff to align treatment strategies.
- Offer staff clear guidance on how to respond during crises and day-to-day interactions.
- Step in during psychiatric emergencies to support patients and staff with the least restrictive interventions possible.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Behavioral Health Counseling from an accredited school or department of psychology.
- Registration as a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor or professional licensure in the State of Washington.
