About the role
An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year in a Phoenix, AZ K-12 school setting. This contract position focuses on providing specialized support in a Structured Teaching Classroom serving students from kindergarten through 8th grade, particularly those with significant needs such as autism spectrum disorders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student goals and abilities.
- Employ data-driven instructional strategies and progress monitoring to ensure student growth.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to create a cohesive support network.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation related to student performance and compliance.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that meets diverse learner needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate actively in team meetings.
Requirements
- Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain this certification.
- Experience working in a structured teaching environment, preferably with familiarity in the TEACCH model or similar structured teaching methodologies.
