About the role
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to support students in a self-contained elementary school program in Joliet, Illinois. This contract role begins November 1 and extends through the remainder of the current school year. The position focuses on providing both direct and indirect speech and language services to elementary-aged students requiring communication support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored speech and language therapy to students within a self-contained elementary classroom.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify students’ communication needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and school personnel to promote student progress and success.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and student progress.
- Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to goal setting and planning.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Illinois SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Experience in school-based or pediatric speech-language pathology
