About the role
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract position requires a licensed pharmacist who is dedicated to ensuring safe and effective medication use while collaborating with healthcare professionals and serving patients with utmost care.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal and safety standards
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, potential interactions, and allergies
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and storage
- Monitor inventory and maintain records for controlled substances and other medications
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy and outcomes
- Provide guidance and education to pharmacy technicians and staff as needed
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with a state pharmacy board
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and regulations
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Experience working in retail or hospital pharmacy settings preferred
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and cover travel assignments if needed
