About the role
The Department of Revenue Compliance Division is seeking a proven performer who is dynamic and self-motivated to lead delinquent account collection strategy, tax discovery, taxpayer service and facilities management of our Kent, WA office.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize collection of delinquent accounts
- Manage the Tax Discovery program in the Kent office
- Assign account workload to revenue agents and provide clear direction to meet performance expectations
- Monitor and review revenue agent collection accounts and provide training, guidance, coaching, and technical advice as necessary
- Negotiate payment agreements with taxpayers on the more difficult accounts to resolve tax delinquencies
- Resolve complaints or disputes that arise from actions taken by revenue agents in enforcing tax judgments and revoking business licenses
- Requesting and obtaining Orders for Execution and Search Warrants to seize and sell taxpayer assets to recover money due
- Writing replies in response to legislative and other external and internal stakeholder requests for information or assistance in taxpayer disputes or inquiries
Requirements
- Working knowledge and full utilization of management principles
- Staff supervision, motivation, and coaching skills
- Project management, budgeting, negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills, interviewing skills, quality/continuous improvement tools, and meeting management skills
