About the role
The Budget and Grants Specialist will assist in leading the Division’s budget planning, development, and submission for biennial and supplemental decision packages, ensuring our financial strategies are aligned with state priorities and Serve Washington’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Serve Washington’s key budget advisor to the Executive Director and other team Directors on all budgetary and federal grant business matters
- Lead role in planning the organization’s budget, and foreseeing program and policy issues with financial implications
- Provide appropriate level of information to oversee the budget consistent with Serve Washington’s priorities and strategic plan
Requirements
- Knowledge of state and federal budgeting processes, including preparation, monitoring, and reporting of multi-source funding streams
- Ability to interpret and apply complex financial and grant-related regulations, policies, and procedures at both state and federal levels
- Skill in developing and maintaining financial forecasting models and analyzing large data sets using advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, lookups)
