Certified Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statutes Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations. Chapter 458. Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice until the direct supervisor and responsibility of a physician.

• Reviews appointment bookings in advance and ensure patients receive appointment reminders.
• Verify and validate insurance prior to appointment date.
• Verifies consent forms are completed and up to date.
• Maintains timely flow of patients and keep patients up to date of any delays.
• Responds to and returns in-coming telephone calls in a timely manner.
• Completes chart abstraction/prep chart activities prior to patient visit to ensure lab, imaging and referrals complete prior to the visit.

• High School Grad or Equiv
• Technical/Vocational School
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
