Motion Sensing Inertial Sensors Engineer - MEMS Sensor Architect

The inertial sensor team develops and integrates inertial sensors across a variety of programs including iPhone, iPad, Watch, AirPods, Vision Pro, and more. You will play a key role in engaging with external vendors and internal customers to specify, develop and characterize inertial sensing systems for consumer applications.

• Define inertial sensor roadmaps, infrastructure, core technologies, specifications, and qualification requirements
• Review and approve verification results
• Identify, create, and document new sensing system metrics
• Interact with suppliers to drive sensor designs
• Diagnose engineering issues using the scientific method
• Prepare and deliver presentations to communicate technical status and risks

• BS and a minimum of 20 years relevant industry experience
• Ph.D + 10 years of hands-on experience and proven track record in inertial sensing hardware development
• Experience in architecture, design, characterization, and validation of inertial sensing systems
• Proficient in the theory of operation, signal processing, fabrication, packaging, and design trade-offs
• Fundamental knowledge and experience in physics, mechanical, electrical, and material science engineering, and manufacturing technology
• Expertise in simulation, data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis tools
• Executive level written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills
