                            About the role
Join our team as a Budget Analyst 3 for the Business Services Program (BSP), where you'll lead budget development, analysis, and forecasting to support informed decision-making and fiscal responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Build spending plans and balance allotments to control numbers.
 - Prepare and present complex caseload and/or expenditure forecasts for budget and other management purposes.
 - Prepare and analyze reports, provide findings, conclusions, and recommendations for improvement of program and agency operations.
 - Communicate budget decisions and provide follow-up service to ensure accountability for executive decisions.
 - Manage, review, and update the Chart of Accounts as required.
 - Support agency cost allocation by monitoring and analyzing agency spend, creating projections, and updating program splits.
 - Act as a conduit of information between managers and the agency staff.
 - Report status of budget, expenditures, and performance standards as required/requested.
 - Serve as the “go to” expert for all Business Services Budget (BSP) receivable and payable contracts and grants.
 - Conduct analysis of proposed legislation that affects the agency and make recommendations for legislation based on agency’s plans and fiscal policies.
 - Coordinate the fiscal note and decision package process for the Director’s Office (DO), ensuring timely submittal and shared understanding.
 
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, accounting, economics, statistics, or relevant field.
 - Three (3) years of professional experience in accounting, budget, finance, or public administration.
 - Six (6) months of current or recent experience as a Budget Analyst 2.
 - Equivalent education/experience.
