Medical Lab Technician II

The Medical Laboratory Technician II performs complex diagnostic and analytic testing of laboratory specimens, including blood and/or human biological specimens, in assigned areas as licensed/certified.

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning and disinfection, quality control, and calibration.
• Conducts all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to hospital procedures, performance standards, and competency standards.
• Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations as well as hospital policies.
• Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and supports education for clinical staff.
• Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities, including evaluating new equipment and procedures.
