Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of core framework components and Android application package (APKs) for Android on tablets and devices.
- Drive the integration of accessibility as a primary pillar of the development process.
- Develop and improve Application programming interface (APIs) and features for assistive technologies, ensuring a quality experience for users of screen readers, switch devices, and advanced keyboard navigation.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, User Experience (UX) Designers and Quality Engineers to translate product requirements into technical specifications and user-centric features.
- Uphold a standard for software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and performance analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers on the team, promoting a culture of innovation and technical growth.
- Investigate and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks within the Android platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java).
- 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
