Senior Data Scientist

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As part of the AX&E Product org, we are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead high-impact initiatives that drive insights and innovation across our technical communities and product ecosystems.

• Design and build efficient data pipelines to ingest and process large-scale telemetry with high reliability and low latency.
• Architect data models and systems that ensure data integrity, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Partner with stakeholders to define and execute critical insights for business decision-making.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting systems to monitor key metrics and performance indicators.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and detect anomalies.
• Design and execute A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses and measure impact.
• Build predictive models and recommendation systems using advanced ML techniques.
• Foster strong relationships across engineering, product, and data science teams, while mentoring other data scientists and contributing to a culture of data-driven decision-making.
• Communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning.
• 3+ years of programming skills in Python, R, or equivalent.
• 3+ years proficiency in SQL and experience with big data technologies (Spark, Azure Data Lake, Kusto, etc.).
• 3+ years experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (Azure, Synapse, Data Factory, etc.).
