Responsibilities

  • Implement food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance policies, procedures, and training
  • Assess and mitigate safety risk associated with construction and major maintenance
  • Collaborate/Coordinate with Facility Supervisor, Operations Leadership, Operations Associates, and Site Sanitation Crew
  • Evaluate facility sanitary conditions, assessing risk based on food safety and public health principles
  • Maintain and write detailed clean up procedures and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures for all plant equipment
  • Manage the site’s integrated pest control program
  • Manage the department budget, including cost savings initiatives related to sanitation programs and activities
  • Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback
  • Ensure all safety requirements related to sanitation are met including proper chemical storage, MSDS, PPE, and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (± 16 years) or significant experience in plant quality/food safety/Sanitation
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Certification as a Sanitarian and Pesticide Application
  • Understanding and application of microbiological principles with in-depth foodborne pathogen knowledge
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Sanitation principles, and Food Safety Preventive Controls (FSPC)
  • Understanding of the appropriate wet cleaning and dry cleaning methodology
  • Experience in successfully addressing environmental sanitation challenges in areas such as drains, floors, walls, roofs, and equipment
