DSHS HCLA Public Benefits Specialist 4

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Home and Community Services (HCS) division, is seeking a skilled Public Benefits Specialist 4 professional to join our team in either Thurston, Kitsap, Pierce, Grays Harbor, Clark or Clallam counties.

• Determine ongoing eligibility for Long-Term Services and Support programs
• Conduct intensive, confidential in-person and telephone interviews with clients
• Recognize and recalculate incorrect payments of grants, food benefits, medical assistance, and Long-Term Services and Supports

• Five years of combined higher education and/or work experience in financial services
• Bachelor's degree or higher with 12 months of experience as a Public Benefits Specialist 2 or 3
• Out-of-state experience: Conducting financial eligibility determination for public assistance programs
