We serve patients Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated Team of therapists, clinicians and staff willing to carry on AdventHealths mission in the communities we serve. As a Scheduler in an outpatient setting you will provide professional direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med and Rehab Department. Accept the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action. The role you'll contribute: Responsible for scheduling procedures and ensuring correct demographic, insurance, and relevant clinical information is obtained. This position requires medical terminology, excellent phone skills, typing 35 wpm, acute attention to details, and excellent customer service skills. Additionally, this role assists in meeting departmental goals in accordance with the hospital's strategic plan. In addition, this position communicates departmental progress to the Team Lead and Manager and performs related work as required. This role also assists in continued education efforts and training for new and existing associates. The value you'll bring to the team: Schedules patients for procedures and ensures accurate demographic, insurance, and relevant clinical information is collected and verified. Verifies the accuracy of orders and scans them into the medical record. Calls patients to complete appointment scheduling. Works with teams to develop and execute initiatives to improve customer service.
