About the role

This announcement serves to advertise two separate Program Specialist 2 roles within the Electrical Program. One is the point of contact and liaison between the Amusement Rides, Citations, and Collections components of the program for internal and external customers and interprets, reviews, and applies program specific policies, procedures, and regulations. While the other plans, organizes, coordinates and attends the statewide Governor’s Electrical Board hearings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Electrical Board Meetings/Appeals of Electrical Citations/Superior Court Appeals.
  • Travel to attend the Electrical Board Meetings.
  • Confer regularly with opposing counsels, department Assistant Attorney General (AAG) and Board AAG.
  • Distribute orders issued by Chair.
  • Accept, process, and track Superior Court Appeals.
  • Collect and maintain evidence, track and verify completion, coordinate appeals with assigned AAG, build evidentiary package related to the appeal, and allocate appeal funds as required by department policy and directive.
  • Maintain records of current and completed appeals. Close out appeals and prepare for collections process.
  • Void or vacate citations at the direction of the AAG or Chief Electrical Inspector.
  • May testify in court hearings on behalf of the department.
  • Process continuing education units (CEU) applications and troubleshoot rosters.
  • Process approved and denied CEU applications according to WAC 296-46B-970 requirements.
  • Assist Administrative Assistant with the completion of public records requests and accommodation requests.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in the program specialty.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
