About the role
Community Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) Community Corrections Division Seattle, WA
Responsibilities
- Supervise individuals who have committed a crime and have been ordered to supervision in the community in accordance with Washington State law, Interstate Compact Rules/Regulations, and agency policy within prescribed timeframes.
- Engage with supervised individuals (S/Is) to work towards positive change.
- Enforce supervision conditions and the law.
- Lead other Community Corrections Officers.
- Act as the Unit Duty Officer.
- Other duties as assigned or necessary.
Requirements
- Armed staff must have the ability to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
- Must possess and maintain an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Washington.
- Must have the willingness and ability to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds and anti-social behaviors; review graphic materials; and to remain objective when dealing with individuals under supervision.
- Must possess one of the following cases: Two years as a Community Corrections Officer within the Washington State Department of Corrections. OR Bachelor’s degree from a college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the US Department of Education, or foreign equivalent.
