About the role

The registration representative will professionally interview and register; verify demographics, interpret and explain insurance benefits with confidence. Scan financial and medical documents into accounts. Obtain appropriate legal consent signatures. Professionally handle stressful situations while maintaining quality of work and excellent customer service. Ensure accounts are properly authorized by insurance carriers. Estimate charges and collect monies due; perform accurate cashiering functions including cash out procedures. Overcome patient objections regarding collections; educate patients regarding insurance benefits and financial responsibility. Adheres to established policies and procedures. Effectively work in a group/team setting and contributes to overall goals. The shifts may include working evenings/weekends/holidays.

The value you'll bring to the team: Proactively reviews schedules and performs eligibility and benefits verification and re-verification for patient visits, ensuring authorizations and pre-certifications are correct to avoid denials and cancellations. Works error reports daily, enters accurate data, and documents all attempts to collect or obtain missing documentation and meets or exceeds accuracy standards and upfront collection goals. Monitors patients wait and registration times, being sure to collaborate with clinical team, implement processes and remove barriers to delayed care. Acts as patient liaison and collaborates with clinical teams and physician offices to ensure timely completion and submission of documents such as plan of cares, status reports and authorization forms, as required by insurance. Screens and assists incoming telephone calls and visitors, routing them to appropriate personnel accurately and timely. Other duties as assigned. Schedules patients according to department, insurance and physician protocols, collects relevant clinical information to ensure accurate/timely appointments and verifies the accuracy of orders. Registers patients for all services, ensuring accurate patient demographics and account information and clearly explains authorizations, pre-certifications, benefit limitations and patient financial responsibility and collects patient payments.

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equiv - Required
  • 1 Year Work Experience - Preferred
