Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Standard Plans Manual (M21-01) and oversee the Plan Sheet Library (PSL)
- Support the Standard Plans Engineer in maintaining and updating the Standard Plans Manual (M21-01) and overseeing the Plan Sheet Library (PSL)
- Develop and revise standard plans that directly support WSDOT's statewide transportation initiatives
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine the overall purpose, define intended technical content, provide needed detail for specific Standard Plans
- Research and interpret information included in Standard Plans to ensure they are in conformance with established national and WSDOT policies and standards
- Create new and revise existing Standard Plans using Bentley MicroStation or other CADD software as utilized by WSDOT
- Perform thorough reviews to ensure Standard Plans meet accuracy, quality, and standards
- Independently develop, maintain and update plans for the PSL
- Provide responsive customer service to internal and external customers
Requirements
- Knowledge of plans preparation processes and CADD standards
- Ability to produce accurate technical documents
- Technology Proficiency: Skilled in the use of personal computers, CADD systems, e-mail, internet, and related tools for technical communication
- Communication: Strong written, graphical, and verbal communication skills of technical information
- Organization & Collaboration: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments independently and work effectively in collaboration with project teams, consultants, and SMEs
