Special Ed Teacher

A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school in Waukegan, IL. This role is structured as a school year (CSY) position, ideal for educators experienced in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s abilities and goals.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support students with disabilities in an inclusive classroom setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students’ academic and behavioral progress.
• Monitor and document student performance, adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

• Valid Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education capacity.
• Strong knowledge of individualized education plans, accommodations, and modifications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage a classroom that meets students’ academic and social needs.
