About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Analyst to join the Business Intelligence team. Under the direction of the Director of Analytics and Decision Science with mentoring from the VP of Business Excellence, you will be a key member of the team and bring analytical skills to a variety of projects covering all aspects of business intelligence and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Leads small-to-medium scale BI projects, from outlining scope and planning to execution and delivery, with support from the Director of Analytics and Decision Science / VP of Business Excellence where necessary.
- Acts as the expert on internal data resources for the wider business.
- Serves as the key resource for interpreting data and information; communicates results to team members.
- Operates as the primary contact between departments and IT to facilitate the delivery of business intelligence solutions.
- Works closely with IT project managers and operations to coordinate cross-functional project activities and ensures deliverables are accurate and meet customer requirements.
- Utilizes business intelligence tools across all departments and functional areas providing detailed reporting and analysis.
- Assesses analytics and reporting needs; provides recommendations for enhanced solutions and specifications for business intelligence tools.
- Manages the delivery of BI solutions to internal and external customers.
- Ensures reporting needs across process areas are prioritized to support deployment strategies and business needs.
- Helps to define, track and remediate data quality standards
- Leads the development of protocols to extract data in a standardized process from a variety of data sources.
- Develops the definition of data management standards and processes to effectively manage data through the reporting life cycle.
- Leads on data mining of customer and sales force information for all market segments.
- Drives development of prototypes and models for database, data integrations and data transformation needs.
- Maintains and develops strong working relationships with business owners as a process advocate.
- Creates speech and presentation materials for members of the management team.
- Keeps abreast of healthcare trends and competitor activity.
- Line manages at least one junior BI team member, responsible for their day-to-day oversight and direction setting, as well as contributing to their ongoing development
Requirements
- Requires some training in fields such as mathematics, engineering, economics, computer science or similar discipline generally obtained through completion of a three/four-year Bachelor’s Degree program
- Requires a minimum of three years direct, progressively responsible experience with expertise in analytics and reporting, ideally in logistics
- Experience leading team members or small projects is an advantage.
- Expert skill set in relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server) and data management essential
- Expert skillset in data visualization (e.g. Power BI) essential
- Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g. VBA, Python) desirable
- Some experience with statistical or math packages (e.g. R, Stata, SPSS) desirable
- Experience with Alteryx Designer desirable
