About the role

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Physician 3 for the Monroe Correctional Complex located in Monroe, WA just outside of Seattle.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care
  • Implementation of the plan of care
  • Diagnoses of health problems
  • Provides medication as required
  • Collaborates with the Facility Medical Director
  • Communicates effectively with patients and staff
  • Provides accurate, authoritative information
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Provides care in any unit depending on needs
  • Provides administrative and clinical supervision
  • Serves as a consultant to the Health Services Managers
  • Evaluates the clinical performance of contract medical providers
  • Provides instruction, teach and mentor medical practitioners
  • Reviews and ensures clinician compliance
  • Participates in the development of treatment plans
  • Assists in the development of multi-disciplinary educational programs
  • Assists with continuing education and in-service training
  • Assists in the performance evaluations of contract and employed providers

Requirements

  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Washington State
  • Unrestricted DEA license with waiver to prescribe buprenorphine
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certified
  • Experience supervising and/or directing health care delivery operations
