DSHS SCC Food Service Supervisor 1

The Special Commitment Center is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to join the team at Steilacoom, WA.

• Maintain order and discipline among resident workers
• Provide residents with supervision, training, and direction
• Ensure proper sanitation, safety, and use of equipment procedures
• Receive and inspect supplies delivered
• Complete daily worksheets, issue sheets, recipes, and other daily automated forms
• Coordinate meal preparation, making modifications as necessary
• Be alert and responsive to emergency protocol procedures

• Supervisory experience in a kitchen environment
• Current Food Handler card within 14 days of hire
• Understanding of principles, methods, and procedures involved in a large-scale food preparation and cooking operation
• Ability to exercise good judgment, use problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with management and coworkers

• Additional $10 per day premium pay
• Free O-RCA card for transportation use
• Ferry transportation provided to McNeil Island employees
• Opportunity for additional 5% premium pay for on-site work
