School-Based Speech Therapist Assistant

An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Hammond, IN. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and offers the chance to work closely with a diverse student population, providing essential speech and language support services under the supervision of licensed specialists.

• Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing therapy plans for students with communication disorders
• Conduct screening and recording of speech and language behaviors
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and therapists to support student communication goals
• Prepare materials and assist in the management of therapy settings

• Experience as an SLPA, particularly within school environments, is highly preferred
• Knowledge of speech-language developmental milestones and disorders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff
• Ability to follow detailed therapy plans and directions from supervising speech-language pathologists
• Relevant certification or licensure as an SLPA
