About the role
This opportunity is for a full-semester contract position based in Oxford, AL, within a K-12 school setting. The district is opening a specialized behavior classroom designed similarly to an occupational therapy room, where students with specific behavioral needs will visit the room throughout the day. The role involves working full-time, approximately 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a start date as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized behavioral support to students throughout the school day.
- Maintain a supportive and structured classroom environment.
- Collaborate with supervising BCBAs if the candidate holds an RBT credential.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and administration regarding student needs.
- Ensure compliance with behavioral intervention plans and school policies.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Experience working with children in K-12 educational settings.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment focused on behavioral interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of behavior management techniques and data collection methods.
