About the role
Responsible for providing thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized instrument trays and equipment to various hospital departments. This position follows manufacturer instructions for use in all steps of the reprocessing cycle. This role accurately assembles trays according to established lists and uses decontamination and sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. In addition, this position can troubleshoot minor issues with sterilization equipment. This role actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships. The value you'll bring to the team: Rotates assignments among various areas within the department, including decontamination, surgical tray assembly, sterilization processes, and equipment management. Properly identifies and segregates reusable items for decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization, selecting appropriate cleaning methods based on manufacturer instructions. Disassembles and inspects items for damage or missing components, ensuring safe operation of all equipment in the decontamination area. Accurately assembles instruments, complex instrument sets, and other surgical items, recording information in the computer tracking system or paper instrument count sheet. The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Required qualifications: High School Grad or Equiv Required or Technical/Vocational School Graduate of a surgical technology program Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) Required or Certified Sterile Processing Tech (CSPD) Preferred qualifications: 1 Work Experience Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Certified Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Requirements
