Medical Laboratory Technician I

The Medical Laboratory Technician I is tasked with the processing, testing, and reporting of results for all laboratory specimens across various clinical laboratory areas

• Performs various support activities to facilitate operation of assigned department or work area
• Performs assigned pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing
• Performs all expected tests and analytical procedures for assigned department or work area efficiently and accurately
• Provides and acts on technical and support information related to the elements of laboratory testing for all age groups
• Maintains workspaces in a neat, organized manner, and is properly supplied
• Properly stores and safeguards documentation and paperwork

• Associate in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) OR medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
• Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician)
• Qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024
