Emergency Department Nocturnist- Physician- Mason City, Iowa

MercyOne North Iowa- Emergency Medicine

• Nocturnist shift- 7pm-7am
• Level III Trauma Center
• 25,000 visits/year
• Full-service hospital with a 24/7 Hospitalist program, air medical and ambulance services, CT/MRI in the department, bed-side ultrasound, and point-of-use supplies in every room
• 42 hours of physician coverage/day
• Tertiary center with 300+ physicians & specialist support to keep patients in house- Trauma surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, GI, ENT, Pediatric Hospitalists, OBGYN, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Ortho Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesia, Radiology, etc.
• Only transfers out < 1% of patients
• Teaching opportunity- residents, med-students, PA/ARNP students

• Graduate of a medical/osteopathic medical school is required
• Demonstrated competency as a physician by completion of an appropriate residency program; board certified or board eligible
• Above average communication skills
• Ability to work with a team
• Licensed or eligible for State of Iowa physician license; Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate

• Nocturnist Base salary: $436,176 ($233/hour)+ incentives
• 100,000 recruitment bonus
• 120 hours of PTO/year
• Extra shift bonus pay
• Annual CME allowance of $4,000
