About the role
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2025–2026 school year at a K-8 school in Peoria, AZ. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction within a Structured Teaching Classroom designed to support students with significant needs, including those on the autism spectrum. Candidates with experience in the TEACCH model or structured teaching practices are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Utilize data-driven instruction and conduct regular progress monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with educational standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student growth.
- Engage actively in professional development opportunities and team meetings to enhance instructional skills and student outcomes.
Requirements
- Possession of an Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience working with students requiring structured teaching approaches is highly advantageous.
